Sad News
The Bernoulli Society was saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Volker Mammitzsch on September 23, 2025, and of Professor Klaus Krickeberg on November 27, 2025.
Professor Mammitzsch served as Membership Secretary of the Society from 1994 to 2007 and contributed significantly to the organisation of major scientific meetings, including the 16th European Meeting of Statisticians held in Marburg in 1984.
Professor Krickeberg served as President of the Society from 1977 to 1979 and played a crucial role in its international development, contributing to the establishment of regional committees in Latin America and East Asia and leading the organisation of the first Bernoulli Society World Congress in Tashkent in 1986.
Our Society mourns the loss of two distinguished members who made lasting contributions to its growth and international reach. Our sincere condolences go to their families, friends, and colleagues.
