Announcements and News

The Bernoulli Society, as a co-sponsor of the conference, warmly encourages everyone to participate in the 4th Joint Conference on Statistics and Data Science (JCSDS 2026), which will take place July 11–13, 2026 in Guiyang, China.

Jointly organized by the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics, Probability and Statistics Society of China, Association for Industrial Statistics Teaching, Business Statistics Society of China, China Medical Association’s Biostatistics Division and IMS-China, since its inaugural meeting in 2023, JCSDS has become one of the world’s largest gatherings in statistics and data science. The previous three meeting had each attracted 1800-2,100 participants from 20+ countries. It typically has 6 keynote addresses, 100 invited sessions, and more than 50 contributed and poster sessions.

The 4th JCSDS will be staged together with the IMS-China biannual meeting with special sessions dedicated to former IMS President Late Professor Peter Hall to mark his 10-year passing from us. In additional to usual scholarly talks, it will have forums for developing Statistics and Data Science in the era of AI, industry exhibitions, and extensive networking opportunities.

Important Dates:

Early Bird Registration Deadline: May 16, 2026

Registration Deadline: July 13, 2026

Contributed Talk & Poster Submission: April 30, 2026

Accommodation Booking Deadline: July 3, 2026

Award recipient:

Honourable Mentions:

We congratulate all awardees and wish them continued success in their future research.

The Bernoulli Society was saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Klaus Krickeberg on November 27, 2025, in Bielefeld.

Professor Krickeberg served as President of the Society from 1977 to 1979 and played a crucial role in its international development, helping to establish regional committees in Latin America and East Asia, and leading the organisation of the first Bernoulli Society World Congress in Tashkent in 1986.

Born in Berlin, Klaus Krickeberg held professorships in Heidelberg, Bielefeld, and Paris. He was widely recognized as a probabilist, statistician, and epidemiologist, and devoted several decades to public health work in Vietnam, highlighted in an article published in the IMS Bulletin in 2019.

Our Society mourns the loss of a distinguished member and leader who made lasting contributions to its growth and global reach. Our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Please mark your calendars!
