2016

C(PS)² supports an interdisciplinary research initiative on Multi-Sector Interdependencies of Critical Infrastructure Networks. A project abstract, written by committee members Konstantin Zuev, Michael Beer, Francisco Alejandro Diaz De la O, Ilia Zaliapin and other scientists, has been submitted for publication in the ASCE technical report.

2013

C(PS)² was involved in the organization of the following events:

Workshop on Mathematics of Climate Change, Related Natural Hazards and Risks, Guanajuato, Mexico, July 29–August 3, 2013, a satellite workshop to the 1^st Mathematical Congress of the Americas (MCA-2013). This education and capacity-building workshop brought together over 30 young researchers, mainly from Latin America and the Caribbean and a dozen distinguished scientists, each of which gave several lectures on a chosen topic. The workshop was part of the world initiative MPE-2013 and it was co-sponsored by the International Mathematical Union (IMU), the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM), and the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). International Conference on Precipitation Extremes in a Changing Climate, Hejnice, Czech Republic, September 24-26, 2013. This conference brought together scientists working in the fields of climatology, meteorology, hydrology and mathematical statistics, to discuss recent advances and possible future directions of research related to precipitation extremes. Invited speakers gave overview or introductory lectures on these fields, along designated sessions of contributed presentations (oral and poster). This conference was part of the KLIMATEXT Project.
